There are a lot of variables that can make or break a photoshoot.

Obviously, the photographer is a big part — their experience level, their expertise, whether they are on their game on a particular day. The model plays a huge role as well — their enthusiasm, their experience, their sense of style. And then you have the equipment and it’s reliability. Avoidance of glitches and accidents. Weather if you are shooting outside.

There are tons of factors that go into making great photos. Any one can throw things off to some degree, at least. But when they all come together, well…

You have a day like we had Saturday.

If there is such a thing as a “Perfect Storm” photoshoot, what’s what we had with the lovely Miss Liz, who is a Senior Model Rep for us from Oak Ridge. God was smiling on all of us, because it literally seemed as if we could do no wrong. Liz, who has done runway modeling and photoshoots many times in the past, was a fabulous model, and needed very little direction from us. Her poses were spot on, exactly what we were looking for. For the most part, the equipment performed just as it should, and the decisions that LaDonna and I made behind the camera seemed to strike gold every time. Even the weather cooperated by giving us one of the most beautiful days we have had in a while. Oh that they would all go this well.

Picking out the best shots was a near impossible task. Here are five great ones, and you’ll be seeing more from this shoot in the future. Enjoy!
