One of the more popular specials that we offer is our Fall Mini-Session Days.

For the last two years, we have had them at Kent and Kristi Altom’s farm in Strawberry Plains. They have a huge oak tree in their front yard, and the colors that this tree produces are just phenomenal. They also have an old-time fence row that has a beautiful tree line behind it, as well as several other spots around the farm that can make for good portraits. A lot of people have opted to use these pictures for the Christmas cards and they have turned out wonderful.

This year we have our mini-sessions scheduled for October 9th and/or 16th. Let me explain what we mean by that. Predicting fall colors is difficult in any year, but this year especially so, because of the lack and abundance of rain at different times of the year. June was really, really dry, then July really, really wet.  August and September so far (this past weekend notwithstanding) have been pretty dry. Right now, it looks like fall is going to come early, as we have seen leaves already turning at different spots around Knoxville.

That’s why we have moved the date up to the 9th from when we have traditionally done these sessions. The 16th is going to be fall-back and/or spillover date. If the leaves haven’t sufficiently turned by the 16th, or we have more sessions for the 9th that we can handle, then we will shoot on the 16th as well.

Now, here’s how the mini-sessions work: The sessions are 30 minutes in length and cost $50 for the session. For that, you get one completely retouched photo at a 4 x 6 resolution that you can use for a Christmas card, or you can use it in one of our custom Christmas Cards. We’ll be posting templates for these cards soon and we promise they will be much better than the ones you can purchase from Walmart or Sam’s.

In addition, you can have one other photo retouched for a $50 package that will include one 8 x 10, two 5 x 7s, four 4 x 6s and 16 wallet sizes. This package is locked and the components cannot be changed.

And, of course, you can choose any of the other proofs from the shoot for our regular portrait packages.

If you are interested, give us a call or shoot us a message and we will be back with you about scheduling a time. Right now, we are looking at shooting from 9-11 a.m. and 2:30-5 p.m. We expect the slots to fill up fast, so don’t delay.

Oh, and if you are wondering just what the colors at the Altom’s farm look like, check out the shots from the last two years below.
