“You don’t take a photograph, you make it”
– Ansel Adams

How many times have you been to a photography studio and felt like you were in line at the grocery store? That you were just another customer to be herded in and herded out, that you have no control over the final product, that your images were not special in any way. Have you ever looked at your wall or your album and said, “I paid for this?”

Studio P understands that your images are about you — what you want, what you need, what you expect. As a result, there is no typical session or cookie-cutter package at Studio P. That’s not how we operate. Every booking is a custom-built, unique experience that is tailored to the specific customer. See a pose in a magazine that you want to recreate? We’ll do our best to accommodate you. Want to do something totally different? Hey, that’s fine, too. And just know that Studio P will provide you with a product that you will want to display on your wall or coffee table for years to come.

How will we do that? Let Studio P owners Tony and LaDonna Pettis tell you.

In Tony’s Words

I’ve been creating images pretty much all my life. I can remember getting a hand-me-down Poloroid when I was in the third grade and saving up the money for the film. My grandfather was a photography nut and we used to take home movies and pictures together all the time.

I take my craft very seriously. I am constantly reading and learning all I can about photography and have sat under the instruction of some of the most talented photographers in America, legendary shooters such as Joe McNally, Scott Kelby, David Ziser and Frank Cricchio. I am a member of Professional Photographers of America, Wedding and Portrait Photographers International and the National Association of Photoshop Professionals.

But at the same time, my shooting style is very easy-going and laid back. I lean more contemporary than classical, and prefer to use lighting, color and composition to make an image look as natural as possible, but at the same time, I want people to look at my images and say, ‘Wow!'”

There’s no greater pleasure to me than presenting someone with images that please them. That’s when I know I have been successful.

In LaDonna’s Words

I love making people feel good about themselves. It is my job to make you look as good as you can look for your photograph. I make sure your hair, makeup and clothes are in the right place. I move lights to highlight your “good side” and try to make the whole process fun! I have been scrapbooking for years so I work on composition during photo shoots. I look for things that will make a great background or will make the clothes you wear really pop. We want you to feel relaxed and enjoy the whole process. We want you to feel special!
